Environment: Windows 2000 Server, SMS 2.0 SP3, SQL 7
Somehow SMS has deinstalled itself from all of my clients (before I applied
SP3.) It was working fine before, but now SMS won't reestablish my domain
controllers as logon points. It discovers them but won't create the SMSLOGON
folder on them. I assume it fails for all domain controllers b/c these errors
occur with the PDC. The following are excerpts from my nt_logon.log file. A
similar problem appears on the knowledge base (Q225242, Q215123) but they address
a different error return code (2138) and only suggest applying SP2.
.
.
Begin service enum on server [PDC] $$<SMS_NT_LOGON_SERVER_MANAGER>
NetShareEnum failure Unable to Enumerate NTLM volumes on server [PDC], error=5
$$<SMS_NT_LOGON_SERVER_MANAGER>
Completed service enum on server [PDC] $$<SMS_NT_LOGON_SERVER_MANAGER>
.
.
Then it runs NetServerGetInfo and constructs each of my domain controllers
.
.
Then I get the following errors:
.
.
Thread 7FC has terminated exit code=5 $$<SMS_NT_LOGON_SERVER_MANAGER>
Unable to determine best volume $$<SMS_NT_LOGON_SERVER_MANAGER>
Does this have anything to do with permissions on the PDC? Please help!!!
Thank you!
