I see you have made your decision, now how do you purpose to enforce
it?

And now I'm going to warn you.  Be quiet.  If you can't help yourself
from flapping your lips for two minutes, I may decide to take up
permanent residence in those groups.  Now I personally have not posted
to your groups yet, but you are posting to one of my groups, AUK.  If
you continue to do so, I will unleash trolling in your group the likes
of which you cannot even fathom.

Quote:>Troll in my group, lose your account.

Which one?  Better yet, how do you purpose to do this?  I'm the Mad
Hatter.  I'm responsible for forgeries up the ying yang, creating
volatile threads that excess over 200 posts, and I caused a 50,000
post flame war between AUK and AHM over the span of a couple short
months, and yet through all that, I still have every single one of my
accounts.  What makes you think you can do better?

I'm not impressed with blowhards.

You will leave, or you will be removed.

Either way, you will be gone.

Uh oh, I hope E-Bob isn't planning on getting the Usenet Global
Administration Autority involved in this.

BTW, E-Bob, *you* are the one who is initiating the crossposting. The UGAA
will view this as you having dirty hands. In fact, they might even conclude
that you bear the primary responsibility for all of this.

1. memory, processor clock ticks and cache and dsp

There's something with memory- it's slow.
It can take up to 90 cycles on a PR200 to get a 32-bit from RAM.
A float multiply, add or sub cost very little ticks, a divide about 34,
a sine 90-120 ticks, according to the documentation of cyrix.
So, sometimes it may be better to calculate some 'constant' instead of
retrieving it from a table,
for fft purposes for example.
But you've got something like cache. Since a float can write it's value
in 1-2 ticks to memory...
So - when's it better to calculate and when's it better to retrieve from
a look-up table qua speed?
