Ran into this same problem when I upgraded my 4.1 server to 4.11. Yes,
you will need a larger DOS partition. Novell 4.11 requires a minimum
of 11.7M of free disk space for its files. By the time you add DOS, or
at least a minimum install of DOS, you have hit the 15M mark.
One thing I found surprising was that when NW 4.11 installs, it loads
every lan and disk driver known to Novell onto the DOS partition.
Later in the process it loads them all again onto the SYS volume. If
the INSTALL program only loaded onto the DOS partiton the required lan
and disk drivers for the particular server, you could probably get
away with a much smaller DOS partiton.
For more information regarding upgrading, and the server requirements,
check out the README files on the Netware 4.11 Operating System CD.
You will find the above bit of information regarding the minimum DOS
space requirement in the file \PRODUCTS\README\ENGLISH\README.411.
Good Luck!!
