How to kill a RConsole session

Post by Franc v/d Westelak » Fri, 18 Apr 1997 04:00:00

Hi,

how can I kill a remote control session when it wasn't closed the
normal way under windows 95.
In my office I have the situation that during a remote control session
the workstation hanged. After resetting the workstation I couldn't
open a remote control session to our 3.12 server anymore. How can fix
this without rebooting the server. Unloading rconsole or spxs doesn't
work.

Thanks,
Franc.

Franc,

Try too find the conneted user from the console with monitor.nlm.
If you found the user which has rconsole open, press delete and
the connection will be terminated freeing up rconsole.

You don't have to be connected to a server to run an Rconsole session!
I'm running an rconsole session to a test server at the moment, it
doesn't show up in the active connections.

Unload Rconsole and Rspx and reload them, if this doesn't work, what
message
do you get when you try to reconnect?

Rebooting the workstation and reconnecting doesn't work, neither does
unloading RConsole and RSpx. When I try to unload RSpx the console
hangs.... When I try to reconnect I get the following message: 'No
response from server'.

After rebooting the server it works again but rebooting is not an
option.
