downgrading form NW 4.10 SFT III to NW 4.10

We are currently running Netware 4.10 SFT III. But after many
-synchronization, crashes...- troubles, we consider downgrade to the
more stable 4.10 without SFT III. Backing-up, Re-formating and
Re-installing 4.10 is a solution, but i'm frightened to forget data.

We have tried to launch the 'server' (instead of 'mserver') command from
DOS session in the primary server, but it automaticaly execute the
vrepair utility.

Our two mirrored servers are EXACTLY the same :
PII-300,64Mb,500Mb,Thomas Conrad Ethernet Card, and special cable
linking servers.

Anyone has a good solution?

Yes, follow up with your first instinct.  Use server.exe *BUT* use -na
-ns to ensure that no relevant SFT stuff runs.  Or for that matter, any
unneed NLMs.  You can also accomplish this by editting the NCF files
first.

Then apply the serivce pack.  Went through this with a 4.11 SFT to 4.11
and had ZERO problems.  Besides you have the ultimate backup, right?

PS James Nauer gave me the "straight-skinny" and it worked out great.

Followup to my earlier post.  If you use -na -ns option, make sure that
you have a print out of your NCF files.  No sense in confusing NDS by
typing in dummy server names and Internal IPX network numbers.

And it's handy to make sure your time is correct at the hardware level ,
when I did that it thought I had time stamps in the 80's for a short bit.

1. NW 4.1 SFT III Re-Install ?

One of our SFT servers died recently and the other done it's job by
carrying on regardless. Now we've got it fixed I would like to make the
system resilient again.

Any ideas about how to re-build the other server without bringing down the
first.

Cheers.
