New DNS Hosting

If you registered your domain with register.com they will provide free DNS.

If you want to buy a DNS service I recommend ZoneEdit.com. You can also take
advantage of their secondary mail server service. Very cheap, very
effective.

I have not found it worthwhile to set up my own DNS server in house because
of the above options.

Good luck! /gary mcdonnell

1. Hosting own DNS and cannot recieve

Hi,

I am running EXch2k with win 2k server.  I have a machine
sat on the internet running its own DNS.  I have also set
up an mx record accordingly.  I have tested that my
firewall is ok on port 25 but I cannot recieve any
incoming mail.

When I sent a test mail to the server it instantly is
returned saying "This is an automatically generated
delivery notification.  Delivery to the following
recipients failed".

I have tried changing a lot of things and am really
struggling to think of anything else.  Could someone
please please help me as I am really stuck.

Thanks
Scott
