POP3 and SMTP GATEWAY

POP3 and SMTP GATEWAY

Post by fran » Wed, 10 Feb 1999 04:00:00

I have a question for you all. I hope you can help.

Here is the scenario: I have an Exchange Server 5.5 and 50 Clients,
and I manage an internal messaging system. Now I have email for all
the users and it is managed from an outside ISP. I would like to
manage email and internal mail all with Exchange... Is it possible ,
here is some questions.

1. Is it possible to have a gateway in MS Exchange that manages this
service, i.e. that collects the email from the ISP and places it in
the same mailbox of the user ?

2. If not possible is there a 3 rd party product that can do that ?

I have access to the net so it is not a problem to replicate, I just
want to manage all from MS Exchange.

There is a spanish product that works very well getting the mail from your
ISP and placing it in the Exchange mailboxes. It is in spanish but it is
very easy to configure. You can get more information on
www.softeng.es

Just use the Internet Mail service within Exchange. You wont be able to
collect from a POP server so you will need a static IP to collect mail
