external mail not suppose reach the exchange internal distribution list

Hi All:

Is there a way to disable email receiving from an external email system when
they are sending to the Exchange distribution group ? there are certain
individuals in that distribution group has send/recieve permission, can this
restriction be done in the distribution group level only ?

Right now the external can still get to our distribution group, even after
we deleted the SMTP email address of that distribution group, with the email
address of :

(distribution group name)
<IMCEAEX-_O=(exchange dir name segment #1)+20(exchange dir name segment
#2)+20(exchange dir name segment #3)+20(exchange dir name segment

is this the X400 format of the email address ?

1. POP3 external mail not reaching internal clients

I have Exchange 2000 checking external POP3 mailboxes via
POP3 connector. I have the mailboxes setup to route to
each user on the network. The server is apparently
checking every 15 minutes because the external mailboxes
at the ISP are continually empty, but is not routing the
received messages to the correct mailboxes. Any ideas?
Thanks
