Hi everyone,
I'm testing an app that sends thousands of slightly different mails.
For testing purposes I have them all coming to my account. The 'from'
email address is identical too.
Right now I'm testing really large numbers: the last run had 7000 emails.
I have full control over the app that writes directly to our MS SMTP server,
running under IIS 4 on a hosted location.
I receive mail through a company server running MS Exchange 2000.
Problem: after approx. 5000 mails they stopped coming in. I now get 29
of these mails every hour.
Nothing is 'wrong' with the software, my colleagues can receive mail
just fine, or send mail out through that SMTP server.
What is going on?
It looks like some 'abuse filter' kicked in ;-)
Is the SMTP server doing thsi, or Exchange, or is it some other software
that we cannot control?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Jan Doggen
