If you are already creating users and mailboxes, a DL is nothing much more
than another object like a user with a property that includes the users.
Shouldn't be much of a stretch.

Thanks for the reply.
But I can not find any object for the DL. I have a COM for handling mailbox
(creating,deleting,moving...etc)  using CDO IPErson,IREcipient and IMailbox.
Should it be ADSI?CDO?...etc.. Kindly guide me to the right object..
Thanks

ADSI is the right path to go when it comes to modify the Active Directory
Group members. Check http://www.microsoft.com/adsi for several pointers.
AFAIK, some sample code is also included in the ADSI SDK (separate download
from the same page).

Automatically add users to a Distribution List

Post by Hon » Thu, 11 Jan 2001 11:30:46

Can you guys programmatically create a Distribution list and then establish
an email address for it?

I can create a Distribution list with VB but could find any API to establish
an email address for it.

Now, I can add users into the list without any problem with VB code. And, I
can use "objGroup.put "mail", "...." to put an email in the mail field.
However, I can't really establish an email address for the DL in the
Exchange server.

Please advise... Thanks!

1. Automatically add user to a Distribution List

Does anyone know if it is possible on Exchange 5.5 SP4 to make an automatic
adding to a distribution list and removing.

What I mean is that is it possible to make a distribution list like
subscribe.news and when a user sends e-mail to that distribution's e-mail
address it automatically belongs to it and the other way around?
