Linking Exchange 2000 GALs from separate Organisations

Linking Exchange 2000 GALs from separate Organisations

I'm trying to see if it's at all possible to link Exchange 2000 GAL's
between our UK office and in the U.S.  We have two separate Win2k
forests with an explicit trust setup.  Both are in Win2k Native Mode
as well as Exchange 2000.

Am I right in saying that this should be possible to do by setting up
the Site Replication Service (SRS) and an SMTP connector in System
Manager?  Has anyone done this before and if so if you could give
advice on steps.

Many Thanks,

Michael

Michael,
Please consider SimpleSync from CPS Systems to do just what you describe.
You can run a single copy of SimpleSync and sync Users from one Forest as
Contacts in the other Forest, and vice versa.  You can sync all or selected
OUs, as well as all or selective attributes.  You can also sync other
Contacts if you would like.  All runs as a batch job under NT scheduling,
with email summaries and event log posting.  Supports 5.5, 2000 and 2003.
In use by over 130 companies worldwide.

Linking Exchange 2000 GALs from separate Organisations

If you've got big forests you may consider creating a metadirectory and
synchronize mail recipients from a forest and make them mail-enabled
contacts in the other, and vice-versa. Also this ensure all your corp
information (non-security attributes, directory-oriented) are stored in
a custom LDAP directory.

MMS do that very well and Microsoft made a configuration helper to do
this (rather than writing lines of code ;))

1. Separate organisations.

Hi there,

Recently I've had some HUGE problems with our exchange system, which I won't
go into at the moment. The end result is that I now have 2 exchange servers
(V5.0, SP2), both with the same organisation name, but they are not
connected together in any way due to one being offline whilst installing the
second server.

I have a number of public folders and mailboxes which I need to move from
one server to the other, but am not sure of the best way to do this.  Is is
possible to create a connector between the two servers that will allow me to
do this? If not, how would you recommend doing this?

2. Password Prompt

3. using SMTP for Connecting two separate organisations

4. Recover of priv.edb and pub.edb

5. GAL Replication Between Two Different Exchange Organisations?

6. Disaster recovery tools...

7. Linking Organisations

8. Journal/Archive per Recipient

9. GAL Replication Between Two Different Exchange Organisations?

10. Importing a GAL from a separate exchange site

11. OWA 2000: Link inside accepted meeting request not shown as link

12. replication between exchange 5.5 and exchange 2000 in separate site dont work

13. Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000 collaboration on two separate domains
