In order to do this with Exchange 5.x, you will need to
setup and configure the Internet Mail Service (IMS) in
Exchange Administrtor. Then DNS will need to be setup
correctly to resolve outside domains and Mail Exchanger
(MX) records will need to be created on the Internet DNS
server which is the authority for your companies domain.
If this is Exchange 2000, then you will just need to
configure DNS correctly to send and receive SMTP based
email to the Internet. (You may need to get your ISP
involved for this part. They usually maintain the MX DNS
records.)

IMS is running and configured to use a DNS; transfer mode is Inbound &
Outbound; connections are accepted from any host (secured &
non-secured)
Incoming messages are rerouted to our domain (zest.nl -> <inbound>)
What's missing? Can you help me out?
Thanks,

1. Exchange IMS using ETRN on direct connection
Hello,
My company connected to the Internet with "Frame Relay" Through firewall.
On the Firewall we have rule that allow tcp connection only out from the
company to the mail server on the DMZ .
We wont to read the company mail from the DMZ mail server every 20 minutes
(so the smtp "tcp connection" will be from the internal IMS to the "mail
Server" on the DMZ).
With dial up connection we can do it with ETRN.
How con we do it with direct connection (frame relay) ?
Can we use ETRN with direct connection?
Regards Haim
