Exchange Client not used by MS apps

Exchange Client not used by MS apps

Post by Steve Bloc » Thu, 16 Jan 1997 04:00:00

Some Microsoft applications, like Word and Internet Explorer, are using the
Windows Messaging compose mail window instead of the Exchange Client
compose mail window (exchng32.exe).

The IE3 Options menu, Programs tab, Mail setting lists Internet Mail and
Windows Messaging as the only choices.

Some other applications (Netscape, etc.) use the correct Exchange client
compose mail window.

Does anybody know of a relevant registry setting, or have any other
suggestions?

The client is running NT 4.0 workstation.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Exchange Client not used by MS apps

Check out this website http://www.slipstick.com/exchange/index.htm. They
refer to a problem with IE 3.x not finding the new Windows Messaging after
upgrading it from Exchange 95. They specifically mention a registry setting
where the path to the messaging program is stored. This should be what you
need.

Exchange Client not used by MS apps

Post by Sprocke » Sun, 19 Jan 1997 04:00:00

The problem discussed in this article is similar, but the mentioned
registry setting (or closest equivalent) is set properly on this NT system.
I think that the differences in the Win95 and NT4 registry is the problem.
I need to know the specific NT registry parameters.

Thanks ...
