Viewing Japanese fonts with Exchange 4

Viewing Japanese fonts with Exchange 4

Post by Sumitomo Corporation / Monterrey Branch Offic » Thu, 29 May 1997 04:00:00

I'm running Exchange 4 in my PC and using it to send and receive email with
my offices in different countries. My company is (I've been told) using
CC:Mail in the mail server in Tokyo, and all mail goes there and gets
directed to the right person.

The thing is that all the messages I get from my collegues appear with an
attachment, but with no text in their body. The attachments reads:

quote:
ATT00000.txt; charset=
ISO-2022-JP
unquote

So in order to read the message I have to double click it and it gets
opened with MsNotepad.

However if I use MsInternet explorer, the message is displayed with a
"Japanese" font right on the screen withou problem (message does not appear
as an attachement or the like).

I suppose I need some patch so that Exchange can recognize Japanese fonts,
could anyone guide me in this issue? Thanks in advance.

PS) please reply directly by email and to the newsgroup, as I don't visit
it much often and it could take a few days for me to check out any reply in
it. Regards.
