OWA: Unable to read digitally signed/encrypted messages

OWA: Unable to read digitally signed/encrypted messages

Post by Dilan Pate » Tue, 01 Dec 1998 04:00:00

We are unable to read any e-mail in the web client sent with a verisign
digital signature.  When the e-mail is opened all you see is "smime.p7m".
Is this a known problem and if so does anyone know how to fix it?

We have this problem even if the message has only been signed but NOT
encrypted.
I have looked in the MS knowledge base, but have had no luck on finding a
relevant document :-(

Any help in this matter would be appreciated!!

1. Client cannot digitally sign and encrypt messages

Aftert succesfully having issued certificates to sign and encrypt mail for
my Outlook 2000 clients, they requested the encryption keys and received
them.
However when attempting to sign or encrypt a message Outlook complains that
system memory is too low, please close some windows and try again.
This will happen regardless of system memory and with no applications
running on various client machines. Sending mail will fail always.
What could be the cause?
