just wondering - i do a backup of my exchange server each night with
ntbackup (i run a script with an at command). i would like to set my volume
to a certain number each night using this script? is there a way.
Personally, I like ARCserve. You can do whatever you like (almost) and
with the exchange agent, backup the exchange database. No need to worry
about those ugly AT scripts.

Conversation: ntbackup question with exchange
Subject: Re: ntbackup question with exchange
sorry - when i say volume i mean name of tape.
instead of name = tape created on 7/24/98
i want to use e000002.
Just wondering - if a user accesses email etc. during a backup session, does it
corrupt the backup?
I have been having backup issues - backup works fine for a few days, then get
errors (backup of log files corrupt, will not restore...). Then the next day
the backup works fine.
I have even run two backups at night (like 2am and 4am) and have the first one
come up corrupt - but the second one was fine.
Any help appreciated,
