Permissions

After migrating a person from cc:mail to Exchange when they try to log in
they are not getting permissions to mailbox. We have found a work around by
adding them to the Exchange Admin group on NT.. However this gives them
access to everyones mailbox. We have to leave them in this group for a least
1/2 hour.
Can anyone help us so we do not have to add them to this group. We have
people looking at others mailbox.

Thanks Charla

What is the person's role on their own mailbox? Check the
"Permissions" tab and see if the user's NT User Account appears in the
"Windows NT accounts with permissions" list with the role of "User".

Your Exchange Admin shouldn't have the ability to open anyone elses
mailbox, either!

1. Folder Permissions versus Attachment Permissions

We have a recurring problem in our Exchange Public Folders:

We have given users the rights to read and add emails to a particular Public
Folder, but not to delete or modify anything.

A user puts in a bunch of emails in said Public Folder, and they come back
later to find that they can not open the emails that have attachments.  It
appears that attachments may have different permissions than the folder /
email themselves.

Adding to the dilemma is that the problem appears to clear itself up over
time.

Has anyone else run into this?  What solutions have you found?

Thank you.
