Set permissions on Public Folders container

Post by Hjpul » Wed, 12 Jul 2000 04:00:00

My recipients are able to add folders to All Public Folders and that is not
so good.

I thought the ability might be inheritance from above.

But there is no property possibility on Public Folders Container when using
exch. server admin, so how do I
disable some recipients permission to add a subfolder?

In Exchange Admin, Go to the configuration container, select properties of
'Information Store Site Configuration'. Under the 'Top Level Folder
Creation' tab you can restrict access to create such folders.

This is in Exchange 5.5

Ok - I have found out. You do it in the Information Store Site Information
object.

1. Permissions on Public Folders container

I am trying to restrict users from creating folder in the the All Public
Folders container but I cannot find out where to set the permissions (or if
it is possible). I also want to get rid of the Internet Newgroups folder (I
have hidden it but I would like to get rid of it altogether).

Or even better: I would like to get rid of the Favorites and "All public
folders" folders and place my folders directly under "Public Folders"..

Any ideas,

Thanks
