Yes, you can have a prompt box come up and ask you who the user is. The
person needs to be logged in as that user before they start Outlook. It's
under Tools, Options, Mail Services in Outlook 2000.

I do not know if there is a way to change the profile based on who the user
that is logged in is.

From in Outlook:
Tools; Options
Mail Services Tab (Outlook 2000) or General Tab (Outlook 9x I think)
Select Prompt for a profile to be used

When they start Outlook it will come up with a drop down box that they can
pick which profile they want to use.

There is a way to accomplish this by using the newprof.exe together with a
customised .prf file In this prf file you set up what to be the default
profile and the mailbox server. Put this newprof.exe on the logonscript and
let it use the prf file to set up the profile for the user logged in.

See the Q145905 and Q147352

If you allow the Outlook Client  to prompt for a profile and choose none for
Logon Network Security, ( Services/ Properties of Exchange Server/
Advanced)this will allow all users to access their mailbox without logging
on and off the Domain.

1) Configure Outlook to prompt for a profile (Tools | Options)
2) Create a profile for each user who needs to access their mailbox here
3) For all profiles go to the properties of the Exchange Server service and
set the Logon network security to None (in the Advanced tab)
