Hi, how can I set-up exchange so if anything is deleted from the public
folder then it can be recovered from the tools > recover option? Plus can
only a owner of a folder, contact list etc in the public folder delete it?
Thanks

1. Data recovery and Public Folders
Hi, brief history - corrupt exchange 2000 sp1 server on sbs2000 sp2.
Restored private mailboxes no problems, however public folders were not
being backed up (another issue with backup exec 8.5 for another time)
Anyway, I am having trouble mounting the Public Folders. I get the following
message when trying to mount them:
"An internal processing error has occurred. Try restarting the Exchange
System Manager or the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or both.
ID no: c1041724
Exchange System Manager"
This also generates an application event id 9519 - "Error 0xfffffea8
starting database "First Storage Group\Public Folder Store (SBSSERVER)" on
the Microsoft Exchange Information Store. Failed to configure MDB."
Running ESEUTIL over the Pub1.edb file says it is consistent. Tried to run
isinteg.exe -test on the offline database, but it said there was an error
and referred to the log file, which it didnt generate.
Yet it still wont mount. I've been poring over google groups, ms kb sites,
technet and recovery whitepapers. My question is this, why is it so hard to
mount this, even on the original server (the public folders were never
corrupt - just the private ones, but the log files were lost it appears
which seems to have effected the public folders)
I have tried copying the edb and stm files to a new exchange server with no
luck. The isinteg -patch looks like what I would use on 5.5, but doesnt
exist on 2000.
Any help would be very muchly appreciated. (I see quite a lot of these
questions asked in the groups archive but no real responses)
Regards
Brad.
