Running Exch Server v4.0 on NT 4.0 SP1
Exch. server services will not start w/ Event Log Error:
#7000
MS Exch. Scr. attendant failed to start due to... "login Failure"

When starting the administrator, we get

The MS Exch. Server Computer does not respond
Exchange Directory
IDN:DS_E_Communications_Problem

Any Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The password for the Service Account is not valid or has expired.  Change
the service account password using UMfD and in the Control Panel/Services of
your Exchange Server.  You cannot run the Admin Tool unless the Directory
Service is running.
