Open Relay / POP/SMTP Clients Problem

Open Relay / POP/SMTP Clients Problem

Post by Scot » Sun, 29 Dec 2002 05:31:08

Here's my problem. I want to allow authenticated POP/SMTP Clients to acces
the server, but I dont want to allow an open relay. Below are the settings I
currently have setup, but the problem is that POP/SMTP Clients are only able
to send mail to users on the Domain they cant send email to users outside
the domain.
ex:

Current settings:

1) Default SMTP Virtual Server / Properties / Access Tab / Relay Tab

2) Select which computer may relay through this virtual server:
Only the list below (selected but nothing has been added)

4) Allow all computers which succsessfully authenticate to relay, regardless
of the list above (selected)

Your POP3 clients need to authenticate when sending. Check the client
settings.

Good luck! /gary mcdonnell
