Post by Bogdan Laurenti » Tue, 20 Jul 1999 04:00:00

I have a small problem with my Exchange Server, when I want to make
double click on the INTERNET MAIL SERVICE (is in the Configurations >
Connections> Internet Mail Service) an error message appear:
Extension "SMTP" could not be loaded.
The specified module  could not be found.
Microsoft Windows NT
ID no: 0x002007e
Here I have 3 choices Abort, Retry, Ignore.

What is mean and how can I fix it ?

If you understand what I write please HELP ME.

Best regards,
Laurentiu Bogdan

I have experienced the same problem.

I installed Exchange using the Administrator account.  After the installation I
locked out the Administrator user account so it could only log in from a PDC or
BDC and no other locations.  After this was done I got the same error as you
when trying to access the Internet Mail Service.  After unlocking the
Administrator it worked fine.  Exchange was using a seperate service account
for all the services.

Note that locking out the Administrator account was a step recommended by
Microsoft to tighten security.

1. Syn problem, archive problem, and smtp problem

Hi,
I have three problems with my server.
1) Synchronization problem in the background during the inbox folder or sent
item folder for some clients, I know it is not the clients because it
happened to some of new installations of Outlook where nothing is wrong with
the client computer.

2) Can't move or archive some folders to pst because "some files are deleted
or corrupted".  Is there a way to fix this or to find out which item is
causing the problem?

3) Is there a way to stop people logging on the smtp server and send email
using a fake email address?  I can't turn on authorentication because that
will stop incoming email.

Any help will be appreciated!
