PLEASE HELP! Outlook Today (outlook.htm), Intranet configurations

Post by Suzanne Corcorra » Tue, 10 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hi all,

We are trying to incorporate the "Outlook Today" from Outlook 98 (otherwise
known as outlook.htm) as one of the frames in our Intranet site.  I have
prepared the file, converted it to .asp, corrected the JavaScript errors
that were being produced by it being rendered outside of the Outlook window,
and added our custom components, such as the MS Investor ticker and our
company logo.  What I cannot get to function is the ActiveX control
(datactl) that "reads" the logged on user's authorized logon name, and shows
their tasks, calendar items and incoming emails.  I have tried working with
the ActiveX control within InterDev and get the error message "Some objects
have failed to load.  The objects will be displayed as text."  The ActiveX
control is embedded within a .dll file which I cannot open in VB because I
do not have the source.  I need the page to load within IE instead of
Outlook, but I need it to populate the oulook.asp file based on the logon
name (email account) of the user.

Here are the parameters embedded within Outlook 98:

<!-- OUTLOOK OBJECTS FOR DATABINDING -->

<object ID="CalList" CLASSID="CLSID:0468C085-CA5B-11D0-AF08-00609797F0E0">
 <param NAME="Module" VALUE="Calendar">
</object>

<object ID="TaskList" CLASSID="CLSID:0468C085-CA5B-11D0-AF08-00609797F0E0">
 <param NAME="Module" VALUE="Tasks">
</object>

<object ID="MailList" CLASSID="CLSID:0468C085-CA5B-11D0-AF08-00609797F0E0">
 <param NAME="Module" VALUE="Inbox">
</object>

<object ID="Contacts" CLASSID="CLSID:0468C085-CA5B-11D0-AF08-00609797F0E0">
 <param NAME="Module" VALUE="Contacts">
</object>

Please help, someone.
