Move database to new disk

In ESM on the mailbox store you want to move select properties of the
mailbox store and choose the database tab--here you have the ability to
browse and select a new location for the database file.  Note: this will
require the downtime to dismount the store while it copies the data and
Microsoft recommends a backup when before and after this to make sure all
data is preserved. .

1. Moving Database to New Disk

Hi,

I was planning to move the exchange database to a new
larger disk capacity. Currently, it is on E: drive. My
approach is to stop all Exch Services and copy the file a
new drive (F:) and after that rename E: to something and
F: to E:. Will this approach work?

Thanks for any input.
