cannot send email to a certain domain

I have read about others having this same problem, but still have yet to
read about a solution. I am running e2k on a w2k server.  I am unable to
send mail to one certain domain(one that I am sure of).  These messages just
seem to stay in cue until the timeout is reached, at which point I rec'v a
NDR.  It doesn't even seem as though the server is even attempting to send
it.  I did an nslookup and everything looked good. Any advice on this would
be greatly appreciated.

Brian,

I have found that SP1 for Exchange 2000 Server fixes this issue.  Actually
it works quite well now!

Find the IP address of the mail server in the domain you are having problems
with and try telneting from your W2K box to port 25 and see if you get an
SMTP response.  Another thing you might want to check is if you are running
an internal DNS server to see if any info regarding that domain is in the
DNS cache.  Also turn on detailed logging for SMTP and see if you see
anything of interest there.  Good Luck...

1. cannot send email to certain domains

I'm getting "Delivery to the following recipients has been
delayed" message when sending to a few domains.  I think
the problem is because the internal computer name of my
server is called exchange_server and the underscore is not
allowed on some mail systems.  HOW DO I CORRECT THIS SO I
CAN SEND EMAIL TO THOSE DOMAINS THAT DO NOT ALLOW
UNDERSCORES?
