I am not sure if you've already cancelled. But its highly recommended that
you DO NOT cancel an offline defrag in progress because it can render the
database inconsistent. As far as time required ..speed it 2 GB per hour on
in the vicinity.
The reason for the hang could be that its finding a lot of things which its
correcting or rebuilding, doesn't mean that its gone into a unresponsive
state.

I am currently running an offline defrag (because of some random checksum
errors on our streaming file and have been advised to) it has got to 41% but
has been* there for over an hour. Is this usual?
How long should an offline defrag take, the info store is approx 7gb.
I am in the UK (its 3 am approx) and the office starts work at 8ish if i
have to cancel this defrag will the whole db be in a complete mess?
I would really appreciate any advice on this.
