Tomcat Engine For Apache Under WinNT

Tomcat Engine For Apache Under WinNT

Post by Jakob Prahe » Mon, 26 Jun 2000 04:00:00

hi everybody,

I am facing difficulties with installing the Tomcat Engine on my Windows NT
based Apache v. 1.3.9.

Although proceeded as described in the "Tomcat - A Minimalistic User's
Guide" I am unable to use neither .JSPs nor Servlets on my installment.

Could anyone give me a hint on some important points when installing Tomcat
under the above mentioned environment, or could anyone point me to some
other resources on the web ( is there any non-minimalistic guide available
;-) ).

Any help is apreciated, thanks in advance,

bye

1. Apache+Tomcat needed or Just Tomcat?

Hey, I'm wondering if someone would give me some advice on this
question.  I'm trying to build a website driven only by Java
technology: JSP, Servlet, EJB... and I know Tomcat alone can serve as
a webserver.  Do I need Apache in this?  What would be the extra
benefit of adding Apache http server into this?

Thanks,
CC
