DSL

This is a little off subject but I value most of your opinions.I just got connected to DSL. I have always had dialup connection and have a couple questions. I shut down my computer at night as I usually do not use it till next evening. What is correct way to shut down? Do I need to turn power off to Ethernet modem and Router when I shut computer down other than when there is lightning and in what order do I shut things down and turn things back on?  Thanks in advance for your help.

No, just shut down the computer. If you have a power bar with a surge
suppressor, your DSL modem will be fine. I leave my cable modem on all the
time, even though, like you, I prefer to turn the computer off at night.
No particular order is necessary when you turn things on any more. If you
want to be logical, turn on: the monitor, the speakers, and the computer, in
that order. But dowes it really matter? No.
