Network Associates has an evaluation version of Sniffer Basic that you can use.
It can be downloaded from their site at www.nai.com. Priority settings for
traffic on a local token ring must be set by the application (this refers to
your telnet application question). Otherwise, you will need to do some fancy
traffic shaping on your routers.
Some things to check:
Make sure your IP and TR MTU settings match between hosts. If you are running
16Mbps, try using ETR (Early Token Release). Make sure you don't have too many
devices on one ring.
