See this site for advice on how to control its size:-
I think it covers everything you need to know.

A supposed "computer genius" at work told me (and he works
on them, so I don't know whether to believe him or not!) that I could
delete the WIN386.SWP file from my computer, and that the only
thing that would happen was that I'd have to re-enter some info when
the system booted up again.
It seems to be taking up an awful lot of space, and I wanted to
set the parameters lower a bit. Is this doeable, or will this majorly
F$&% things up, and I'd have to reload all my programs?
A newbie wanting to know, before I take a self-proclaimed
experts advice! :-)
