Are you sure you're seeing the hard drive light? perhaps the wiring is
backwards and you are really seeing network activity (from that led).

I need help, and I need it as soon as possible.  I don't
know how it happened, but, I can't get it to go away. My
whole original screne has shifted to the right.  I can't
make out some icons on the lower right corner.  To the
left and above is all black screen.  I can't move the
arow past it.   How do I fix this?

Is it normal for the hard drive access light to blink continuously in Xp
Pro?

It blinks once every second and it's driving me up the wall.  I've repaired,
re-set-up, and reinstalled Xp and it's still doing it.

This is a stand-alone home computer with an ethernet card for DSL.  It has
an AMD Duron 1.2g cpu with 256 ram.  For video, it has a GeForce 2.  The
only other cards are a PCI modem (for answering the phone and faxing) and a
sound card.

I would deeply appreciate any info.

Thanks,
Ari

This sounds like a hardware issue with your monitor, not a
Windows problem. I'd try using the monitor's controls to bring it
back, but if the shift is extensive that may not work. I've had a
monitor fail permanently that way; the only solution was to
replace it.

When there is any significant disk read or write going on, it lights up
brightly and remains so until the drive falls quiet again.  So yes, I'm
certain the LED is reflecting hard disk activity.

1. HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!HELP!

I am running a 3.51 NT server which runs a domain on a LAN. Before it was
running as a domain server, it was working as a workgroup server and I got the
FTP server to work perfectly well. I later changed to a domain server, and I
just can't get the ftp server to work, even after re-installing the ftp
service. The users can connect to the server, but when after trying to login
via anonymous login,  the message : user "e-mail address" cannot login to the
server.

This also happens to valid users on the server. What could I be doing wrong,
could somebody kindly help me???
