Very Computer

Hi

My printer has stopped working and when I investigated I noticed the
comm1 was not working in the device manager list.  I have tried
reinstalling the comm1 driver but I get the message

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I try and disable the comm1 driver but printing still does not work.
Are the faults connected in some way?

I have managed to sort out the printing problem.  I changed the
parallel cable for a USB and it now prints ok

The com port problem is still there though.  When I look in System
Information:Ports:Serial there is nothing in the right hand window.

Also when I look in Computer Management : Device Manager : Ports : The
listing for Communications Port (COM1) has a exclamation mark over it.

In the Communications Port (COM1) Properties box under the general tab
it says "this device cannot start (Code 10).  There is nothing
connected to the Com Port.
