Connection HandHeld -> Win XP -> Win 2000

Post by Susi » Sun, 04 Aug 2002 01:21:49

Hi!

I have a Handheld, a web server (Win XP Pro) with an IP
and a data server (Win 2000).
I'm trying to connect a HandHeld to my office server Win
2000, that contains my data base. The handheld and the
server have the apropriated softwares installed for
comunication, and it's working properly through the
cradle. But what I need it's to connect the server
remotely, through Internet.
I have to configure the XP PC to allow the access between
Palm and Win 2000 server. The palm connects to internet
through a Palm Modem, and the data server connects to
internet through the XP PC.

How could I do this, using the Windows XP firewall?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Thank you,

Susi

I won't be able to offer any help here, but I suggest that you also
visit the forums at http://www.brighthand.com if you get no other
responses here..  Some of the people there might be able to shed more
light on this matter.

1. Win 3.1 > Win 3.11 > WFW 3.11 > Win 95 ?

Working in an enviroment which is currently using several different Win
o/s.

Can you explain to me in LAYMANS terms:

        1.  Differences between Win 3.1/3.11 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11
        2.  Win 3.1/3.11 and WFW 3.11 and Win 95

Are they compatable backward and forward?
Will a program that was designed for Win 3.1 also work on WFW 3.11?
Will a program that was designed for Win 3.1 or WFW 3.11 also work on
Win 95?

Of course everyone tells us to convert to Win 95 but with the extensive
programs we currently have for Win 3.1 is WFW 3.11 and intrim step we
should be considering?

If this question should be directed to a diff. newsgroup please let me
know.
Thanks
