Very Computer

I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 and use Windows XP Professional.  I am having a
problem with my printer a HP DeskJet 940 C.  The printer only prints the top
part of each page and it is erratic.  I tried using Windows XP driver as
well as downloaded an HP driver....same problem.  Tried deleting printer and
re-installing...same problem.  I have used this printer with other machines
with Window 98 and another Dell Inspiron with Windows 98.....in both cases
the printer worked.  Seems like an XP problem???
Would appreciate your help.

In device manager, REMOVE the printer.  Reboot and you should get a new
driver install, with a good set of drivers.

Is the cable in firmly and undamaged?  IEEE1284 or USB cable?
