USB 2.0 PCMCIA problem

USB 2.0 PCMCIA problem

Post by Joop » Wed, 25 Dec 2002 06:02:08

I installed a cardbus USB 2.0.
Windows XP (SP1) detects automatically. I have drivers on a disk. But it's
only working as USB 1.
When I choose NEC PCI to USB enhanced, it's not working.
Any help?
Joop.

Hi Joop,

The issue may be caused by that the driver integrated in the Windows XP
only can let the card work in the USB 1.1 standard. We need to install the
driver of the card to the Windows XP. This can let the card work in the USB
2.0 standard.

If you do not have the driver, please check the manufacturer's web site.
Commonly, we can find the driver from the manufacturer's web site.

1. USB Harddisk on Belkin USB 2.0 PCMCIA Card

Hi,

I will test a Belkin-USB 2 PCMCIA Card (with external
Power Adaptor) for a friend who has only USB 1.1 Slots on
his Notebook.

Many devices like the USB Bus powered CanoScan LiDE 20
works fine at the Belkin.
My Notebook is a Gericom Supersonic Force 2,5 GHz.
I had Windows XP SP1 with no additional fixes.

I had only a problem with a Fujitsu MHS2040AT USB
Harddisk.

When I attach the Drive to the Belkin (external powered!)
there is after the initial beep and the "New Hardware
found FUJITSU MHS2040AT USB Device" message an Hardware
installation error (The LED on the Harddisk lights red
most of the time).

When I attach the same USB Harddisk on an native USB 2.0
port on the same notebook the Disk works fine.

Who can help me.
