IE and Outlook Express coexisting

Post by drgibso » Fri, 14 Jun 2002 07:35:05

In IE 6.0.2600.000, when I go to File|Send|Page by email,
nothing happens.  I click on "Page by email" and the menus
disappear but Outlook Express does not appear.  Also,
within this forum, if I click on "reply (email)" I get the
message "Could not perform this operation because the
default mail client is not properly installed."  In
Outlook Express 6 I click on Tools|Options|General, there
is the message at the bottom of "this application is the
default mail handler."  What should I do to get these to
work?
Alos, can I search for messages from me on this forum?
Sometimes I leave a message and forget which forum its in.

Click Start | Run, type the following command and then press Enter:

"C:\Program File\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg (With quotation mark)

If the above suggestion doesn't work, then see

Kenrick, Thanks, I'll try it out.
How do you manage your messages in this forum.  I have
left questions in 3 or 4 different areas here and may not
remember to check them all for replys.  is there a way to
search for senders and then search for me.

Most of us manage our messages in this newsgroup by using Outlook Express to
read the newsgroup from this NNTP server:
msnews.microsoft.com

OE has an option in View | Current View to Show Replies to My Messages.

That is barely adequate for finding anything in one
newsgroup let alone several unknown ones.

In this case because he happens to have an unusual
word in his Subject line he does have some hope of
finding the pieces of his thread that way.

A better answer is to use Google Groups with
