Two Browsers open, the wrong one goes to sites when using the links toolbar

Post by John Bowma » Tue, 13 Nov 2001 01:55:12

With two browser windows open, while browsing in the second open window, if
I click on a site by going to favorites first, it goes there.  If I go to a
site that's in a folder in my links toolbar (I have a few folders of links
on the toolbar), when I click on the site the first browser goes to it.
That same site, when I get there via favorites, opens in the second window
as it should.
Any suggestions, this is really annoying and didn't happen in IE5.

Use "ctrl and n" to open a new page then use that one for your links folders
so you don't lose the first window.

Hi John - This is a known bug - the work around is to Drag & Drop the link
into
the window you want to use instead of clicking on it.  Regards, Jim Byrd

Two Browsers open, the wrong one goes to sites when using the links toolbar

I've unchecked the reuse windows, and I think I'll stick with it, it's
easier to close a window more than to open one then click the favorite.

1. Shortcut in Links Toolbar opens in wrong browser window

To recreate the problem:

1) Add folder "test" to the links toolbar.  That is "test"
should be a sub-folder of the "Links" folder.
2) Create a link within folder "test".
3) Open a new window of Internet Explorer by either the
File -> New Window method or start another process.
4) In the New Window you just opened and from the links
toolbar, click on the "test" folder and select the link
you created.
5) The page will be opened in the original window and not
in the new window.

Is there any fix to this or is this a known problem
already?
