Now there is the WindowsMedia Player 8.5 for PocketPC,
and I was wondering if there was a new encoder profile?

1. Media Player 8.5 Won't Play .wmv Movies
I just purchased a new Toshiba e740 about a month ago, pre-
installed with the latest ROM. I have had an Ipaq 3650
for over two years (upgraded to Pocket PC 2002 and the
latest ROM), and am having problems I never had with that
unit.
I finally got around to trying to play full-length movies
that I have encoded in .wmv - and no luck. These movies
play with no problem on my old ipaq 3650 (with MP 8.0
intstalled), but now, on the e740, the file is just
skipped over. There is no longer a setting in MP to play
unsupported files, but I found the registry setting, and
changed it to match the Ipaq's (although the setting does
not seem to stick). Still no luck.
Any one else having problems with .wmv content for the
newest EUU? I can play the bmw films (encoded for the
pocket pc) with no problem, also streaming is also no
problem, it's just these bigger files.
Any help is much appreciated, as I've been watching these
files for years, and am not happy about this issue.
