The forthcoming Opera browser for EPOC will support SSL.

First establish with them what they require. That could save you a lot
of money.
My bank also only allows the use of IE4 and not Netscape.
When I pointed out to them that every time I used IE4 it sent private
details to Micro$oft in America, and asked them to assure me that my
private banking information would remain private, and then to
demonstrate to me how they intended to prove that micro$oft was not
stealing that too, they have refused to answer or address the issue!
I don't use their internet banking facility for that very reason!
Regards
Chris
ps Oh yes! It's The Royal Bank of Scotland btw.

Yes indeed.Quote:> Hi

I don't think it would make much difference which model you chose for this.Quote:> and which would be the best model for internet banking?

A number of Fresco users have thus been able to access a number of banking
sites, especially things like Barclays, Lloyds and Egg.

Incredible, given that pointing IE 3 (and above) allows anyone with intent to
do just about anything (and I mean ANYTHING) to one's computer and/or the
network it is connected to. I tell you this because I was absolutely amazed
to see what an Internet Consultant was able to demonstrate to me as I am
going about deploying an e-commerce site (that NDA forbids me to mention at
this time....)
Windos exposes everything that is needed to be known for a malicious systems
designer one is pointing their IE browser at...
Put another way, if anyone breaches our firewalls and touches our cluster
servers, their machine will reboot. If they come back again, it is totally
technically possible for us to =kill= their motherboard...
It left me pondering long and hard for many nights... there is a bomb out
there in *space waiting to explode... mark my words...

Not if "the network it is connected to" uses sensible security measures.
Just because *one* machine on the network is running Windoze, that does
not mean that they *all* are.

1. netBook : Two Questions -> Answers Please !
Hi there,
Being a realtively new netBook user (2 weeks) I have a couple of
questions I would like an answers to.
I have looked in the manual and can find nothing on these two
questions at all !
1) When the main battery goes "dead", how long do you put it on the
charger for ?
At first you get the amber light, then it chages to green .. but
do you still keep charging when it goes green ?
2) On the front right hand side is what is called a "Notification
Button" and "Notification LED" (next to the charging LED)
What are these ?
Once again I can't find any reference to them in the manual !
Can anyone help ?
Steve
