3c-PC-Card adapter and PC-Card HDD's?

As far as I can tell you cannot use PCMCIA cards in a 3c. If you open
up a 3c bay and look inside there are 6 contacts spaced at 2.54mm
whereas a PCMCIA card edge connector has a high density connector with
a good 30+ holes at much narrower spacing.

My understanding is that the 3c will only take cards designed to plug
into a 3c and not PCMCIA type.

Does anyone know whether PC-Card (PCMCIA) Type-III harddisks
can be used as drive C: on the Psion (3c)? Or are only modem
cards supported?

Only modem cards are supported.

From the pictures I've seen i guess the adapter is suitable for type
II cards only.

Of course I meant the PC-Card adapter which is available for the 3c
(and maybe for the 3a as well)... PC-Cards are twice as large as SSDs!

Brendan,

I actually saw and drooled over the PC Card adapter at COMDEX.  It is
specifically made to support modem cards and nothing else.  Further there
is to be a 3a version in the near future.

Regards,

Uriel

Why do I always get the feeling that some development guys at Psion are
a bit short-minded...
