Calendar/Address book recommendations?

Post by Michael K Gav » Mon, 06 Sep 1993 03:45:51

I finally found the time to switch to OS/2.  Looking for calendar
and address book substitutes for the Windows utilities.  I'd like
to invest in something a little more advanced than the OS/2
utilities.

Facing the unappealing prospect of typing in all my addresses
from the Windows cardfile, I realize it would be nice to be
able to import and export addresses through some industry-
standard format, like a DBase file or something.

Anyone know if the OS/2 products out there (I only know about
"Relish") can do this?  Any other helpful comments on strenghts
and weaknesses of various programs?

Thanks in advance.

Both Arcadia Workplace Companion and Relish should be able to import
standard comma delimited files.  And both are running promotional
offers -- they are both fairly inexpensive.  See the OS/2 Frequently
Asked Questions List for details on the Relish special.  A demo
version of Relish is available via anonymous ftp from
ftp-os2.cdrom.com.

I've seen both and like both.  (How's that for sitting on the fence.
:-))

Hello!
Is there a demo for the Arcadia Workplace Companion??

I have used the demo for Relish, and was most impressed with it.
Now only if I could see what Arcadia is like before deciding on one :)

I haven't seen one, but perhaps you can call Arcadia to see if a demo
exists.  The company advertises frequently in the OS/2 trade press
(e.g. OS/2 Professional).

1. Adding address to PMMail Address Book IN BULK

I have an ASCII file that contains about 300 email addresses, one per line. I'd
like a quick way of adding this to an Address Book in PMMail. Does anyone know of
a quick-and-dirty tool to do this? Thanks.
