A simpler method is to unpack the disk1 stuff into temp\disk1, and the
disk2 stuff into temp\disk2.  Then the install program is happy, and
doesn't need tricking.

Installing WIN32s support for OS/2.

Win32s (32 bit addressing Windows apps), does not work without a fight
under OS/2.  You must first de-install any existing Win32s. Under DOS,
delete any WIN32*.* files.

Then you must install the OLD Win32S version 1.15.  The current version
1.25 does not work.

Microsoft does not provide version 1.15 any more.  They further prohibit
vendors from bundling it.  With help, I found a copy at

   ftp://ftp-os2.nmsu.edu/new/wn32s115.zip

Be careful, urls are case sensitive.

I created a C:\TEMP directory and unzipped the file into it under Windows.
Then, under Windows I ran TEMP\SETUP.EXE.

It humed for a while, then complained it could not find file C:\DISK1\X.X.
At this point, behind its back, I RENAMEd the C:\TEMP directory to
C:\DISK1, and hit retry.  It  chugged away for a while then similarly
complained it could not  find C:\DISK2\XXX.DLL.  I cheated again, renaming
directory DISK1 to DISK2 and I hit retry. I coninued in this vein humoring
the faulty install program designed only for floppy use.

After this was all over, I rebooted to OS2 and lo and behold WordScan Plus
which needs Win32 started to run properly without mysterious errors about
missing *.SYS files.

There are no instructions.  The presumption is you unpack and run
install/setup.
Further, there is no list of which files should go into DISK1 and which
into DISK2.  If the file had internally two ZIPs DISK1 and DISK2 that
technique would have been easy.

1. Guidelines to install Win32S support under OS/2

Hello OS/2 lovers,

Next question is probably published a hundred times, but these
days newsgroup servers don't keep there messages that long anymore to do
a serieus search back in time.

And now the question: Is there sombody out there who could
provide me a (detailled) explination how to install the win32s support
under os/2 Warp(conncet)blue spin. I got the Win32s v1.25a libraries and
I got the new VW32S.SYS driver for Warp.

Installing under Win-OS/2 of the libraries didn't work (error
message saying couldnt bind because of KRNL386.EXE not found or something
like that). Installing under DOS and transfering afterwards the libraries
worked so far that the installation of the application which needs the
win32s worked. Launching the application gave me the errormessage that I
got an old Library. Yes, I updated the CONFIG.SYS like it was told in the
README.TXT adding DEVICE=<drive>:\vw32s.sys 1,25,100. Still no good.

Anyone who could help me? Please send your replay also by e-mail
