POP Mail Client needed

Post by jsanc.. » Mon, 11 Jul 1994 09:07:55

I would like to use the LAMAIL package but cannot figure out how I get it to talk to my POP server.  I have seen others mention a program called LAPOP which sounds like what I need.  Any clues where I get it?
thanks

Get a  copy of LAMPOP11.zip from ftp.cdrom.com. Follow the readme
carefully, especially with respect to changes in the "services" file.
Just set up the receive function. Sendmail will probably work for send.

Lampop11.zip works great for getting your mail from a POP server.  You can
just use the regular sendmail for sending and lampop for receiving.  I build
a pop folder in lamail and had all of my pop mail put in that folder.  When
I receive my pop mail I must use LaMails "rebuild folder" to rebuild the index
file, but once I do that everything works great.

Yep, sure did. POPit is there because I had something that worked
a little better for me than LAMPOP did.  There has been some talk
recently about difficulties with LAMPOP so, why not?  I would think
something similar prompted the others.
