Foolish me, I tried it.  I have about 250 Megs free (starting with a 20 Meg
swapfile) and it filled it all trying to display that gif from the
lighttable.

I'm too tired to report it now, but I'll try to remember to do it tomorrow.

: My light table folder crashes (i.e. uses up all 70 MB or so of
: virtual memory it has available) when it tries to create a miniature
: view of the following GIF or when it does the same through a light
: table reference. Every other GIF has worked fine.

I find that my light table crashes when it contains pictures taller
than the screen height.

Its got an invalid .GIF header - this will happen on many other viewers too, not
just ones for OS/2. Find something that *will* load it, write it out under a
different file name then reload it - you will then have no problems..

I think lighttable is a great app, if  a little slow at times..

You didn't get it. No matter how crooked the picture is, the LightTable
is *not* allowed to crash OS/2.

I have no interest for the picture in question, but if one GIF can
crash OS/2 then can also other GIFs. (As was already pointed out by
someone else.)

well, on my ystem it crashes not OS/2, but the WPS - and that very often. Just
try to create a few (means 5-10) Light Table References at once. It seems that
the problem is the physical format of the picture, not the type. I have quite
some (larger than 1024x768 in one or both directions) from which I can't make a
reference at all. All of those pictures load fine in every other program I
have.

1. Light Table crashes WPS

I've installed the Practice Viewer upgrade for JPEG support in Warp's
Light Table folders which has worked OK for a few folders with a few
images - a much-needed improvement :)

However last night I was happily creating thumbnails for a couple of
directories containing an assortment of GIF, PNG & JPG files (PNG
support would be nice!) and then wondered what would happen if I
interrupted the process (one folder had >50 images, the other ~20) so I
closed the LT folders & then re-opened them once CPU activity had
dropped back to ~zero. This consistently crashed the WPS very quickly
(SYS3172 IIRC, whatever that means - my OS/2 machine is at home), which
then reloaded itself successfully. This repeated when opening either
folder one-at-a-time, some time after the folder had become repopulated
with thumbnails - previously-created thns were visible OK. Eventually I
got fed-up and deleted the LT's... :(

Ne1 else experienced this? Is it just PVU? It's putting me off
registering...  (tho' now BMT has a secure server It'll be easier)

(My system: Warp 3.0 + FP22, 24MB RAM, DX2-66, ET4000 W32p 2MB DRAM,
 1024x768x65k desktop)

Cheers,
        James.
