Creating OS2 disk image floppy's from CD image files.dsk ???

Post by Dave Kopa » Sun, 31 Dec 1899 09:00:00

I've recently tried to change display drivers on a system without a CDROM
drive, and have encountered a problem creating the display driver disks from
the image files on the CDROM.
"LOADSKF disp1.dsk to a:"

I receive and "unsupported disk type" message ???

Note:  The archive file size is 1884160 Bytes whereas other archive files in
the diskimgs\os\35 sub-dir are 1474560 Bytes in size?

Q.  Am I doing the right thing (creating display driver floppys')

Q.  Has anyone used the LOADDSKF utility and can they offer any advice (I've
tried the options /f /c /y

Thanks much
Dave

I think that you want to use XDFCOPY instead.  XDFCOPY can copy 1.8 Meg
files onto floppies.  There are no tools to allow you to create your own
1.8 Meg floppies or add or delete files from them, at least that I am
aware of.

Get Dsk4Pm from Hobbes. It's a PM frontedend
for creating floppies from disk images.

Cheers

Wayne

The 1.88MB files are XDF format, you need to use XDFCOPY
<path>disp1.dsk A:

Cyrix6x86/200, OS/2 Warp 4 and BEos R4
Wausau, WI. 44d 58m 00s N x 89d 36m 45s W
Illegimiti Non Carborundum

1. Can't create image disks from CD

Could someone help me out? It's OS/2 Warp 3. First, it's an AMD Athlon
900Mhz PC with 384MB RAM. When booting the Install disk, the screen is
the same as normal boot-up + "OS/2..." on top left. I think something
isn't right. After a while of reading floppy, it pauses and reboots. A
full circle. The same set of floppy & CD installed fine on a Pentium
133 + 24MB RAM. Beats me.

Thanks.

C:>D:\OS2IMAGE\DISK_0\XDFCOPY d:\DISKIMGS\OS2\35\DISK0.DSK A:
XDF3504: Insert the target diskette in drive A:
XDF3502: Press any key to continue

XDF3515: Writing...
  0%_________25%_________50%_________75%_________100%

XDF3508: Track 0 cannot be formatted.
ACTION: Try another diskette.  If the problem
persists in an OS/2 session, try running the
program in a DOS session.
