wrong with IBM? There's nothing wrong with IBM... it's your computer
that's wrong.

I've tried the new Netscape 16 bit version beta 5.  It does not
communicate with OS/2's DOS tcpip support.  The last version that
worked is beta 4.  Even beta 4a does not work.  Any ideas to fix it ?
or just complain to Netscape?

This is my Oliver Stone(d) theory:

Since OS/2 users have had sucess in running all versions before, Netscape
Inc. in collusion with Microsoft (bitter from the failure of Windoze 95
in comparison with Warp) has made the latest beta.  Points of evidence are:

1)  The hush-up of the Justice Department's investigation of the
monopolistic tactics of Microsquish Network in the implementation of the
win95 installation program (deletes other service provider software,
including Netscape)

2)  Complete ignorance of OS/2 as a platform for Netscape.  If they make
it for Unix, they can compile code for OS/2. Netscape Inc. needs guidance
from Team OS/2.

3)  Win32s keeps on evolving even though it is used in Win 3.11 and
lower.  Microsquish must be engaged in a upgrade volley, knowing that
Win95 lacks the features that make OS/2 a superior os.  Let's see how
long it takes IBM to counter this upgrade with a new VWIN32.SYS.

4)  Warp Connect!!!!!!

5)  Merlin!!!!!!!!!!

Let's Go!  OS/2 Forever!!

I have gotten netscape beta 5 to work from a situation when all it was doing
was throwing up its hands with a cannot find socket error.

The way i did this was to follow the advice of a friend on irc and apply a
patch which replaced some of the dos tcpip files.  The patch was called
dos.zip and if you mail me I can uuencode mail it to you.

I also tried fiddling around with the netscape ini file.  The working version
has these network settings.

[Network]
Use Async DNS=yes
Max Connections=10
Speed Over UI=yes
TCP Buffer Size=5120
Last Preference=1

What version of Win32s are you using?  I've got 1.30 installed and not sure
if I should have installed that version.
