Please let me explain my situation first.

I got a SUNSparc 20 came with an Internal IBM OEM 1G HDD.
I also have one Seagate ST32420N (2G) HDD and one Seagate ST15230N (4G) HDD.
I found that if they all co-exist, IBM HDD will have an error message :

Jul 24 14:00:10 hk vmunix sd1c: Sense Key: Aborted Command
Jul 24 14:00:10 hk vmunix sd1c: Vendor 'IBM' error code: 0X47
Jul 24 14:00:10 hk vmunix sd1c: Error for command 'write'
Jul 24 14:00:10 hk vmunix sd1c: Block 64880, Absolute Block 64880

This error message happened after I newfs sd1c.  Do you have any idea?

Use repair under format to fix Absolute block 64880.

I've always been told not to use partition c , only a,d,e,f,g,h for file systems and b for swap

Does anyone else use c partition?

1. FC-AL HDD problem!?!

Hi all,

I have tree drives in my SPARCStorage netarray A5000.
All of them are Seagate ST118273FC. But first is original SUN, second is
clean from Seagate, and last one is unkown, but it's revision is ST118273
Disk array connected all of them properly, but Solaris 8, does not recognize
last drive on format command. It 's saying <unrecognized disk format> and
disk unformated.
How can I make it work?
