by SunOS 4.1.2 supports the Exabyte 8500 drives ... unfortunetly, they forgot
to enable the fast search capability .... my search time to near-EOT dropped
from 1 hr to about 50 sec ...
in /sys/scsi/targets/st_conf.c ....
Change line 126 to add: | ST_KNOWS_EOD
[this line will have ST_VARIABLE|ST_BSF etc ...
This is the statement about 8500 drives. regen the kernel and install.
