Most applications that compile on the 700/800 series will work on the
300/400 series with little or no modification. The best site for this
You'll want to download and install gcc-2.6.3 first, though, as many
applications need an ANSI-compatible compiler. And before you install
gcc-2.6.3, you'll want to install GNU's binutils package for the GNU
linker (ld) and the GNU assembler (gas) so that you can build gcc-2.6.3
properly. Check ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/ for this GNU stuff.
